Where you'll be

Luray, in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley.

The cabins share a wooded hillside about 10 minutes from downtown Luray and Luray Caverns, and 15 minutes from the Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive.

  • Washington, DC: about 2 hours. Clear roads. Leaving the city on a Friday afternoon can add an hour.
  • Arlington & Alexandria: just under 2 hours. You start west of the worst of it, which is worth about ten minutes.
  • Dulles & Loudoun: under 2 hours. The easiest run of any of these. Route 7 to 340 avoids I-66 entirely.
