The experience

The Stag is built for guests who want the peaceful feeling of a Blue Ridge escape without giving up the fun. The open main level brings kitchen, dining and lounge together under soaring ceilings: gather around the island, settle in for a movie on the 75-inch TV, turn on the fireplace, or make it a karaoke night.

Upstairs is the game loft, a destination of its own. A dramatic 6 × 7 ft picture window frames the trees behind a Polycade arcade system, air hockey, a Board game console with floor seating, and an egg chair for reading or simply taking in the view.

Outside, the fully covered deck holds a six-person hot tub, a propane fire table and a grill, so morning coffee and late-night conversations happen in almost any weather. Out front, six Adirondack chairs surround a private fire pit looking out over the property toward the mountain and valley. Subtle stag and deer artwork throughout ties the home to its name and its setting.

Before you book

Getting here is a mountain drive
The cabins sit up a maintained gravel mountain road, and it is part of what keeps the views to yourselves. Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is strongly recommended. We clear the road after snow. Not sure about your car? Just ask; we answer this one all the time.
There is one outdoor camera
One exterior camera on the front edge of the cabin, covering the driveway directly in front of the cabin. There are no cameras inside the cabin, and none in or facing the hot tub, the decks or any private outdoor space. The full terms are in the rental agreement.

The main-level suite has a king bed and its own 55-inch 4K TV. The upstairs bedroom has both a king and a full bed. The cabin sleeps six across two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Yes. The three cabins together sleep up to twelve. Email us for whole-property stays and we'll coordinate the dates.

Is there a minimum stay at The Stag?

One night for arrivals Sunday to Thursday. Stays that start on a Friday or Saturday are two nights or more, unless a single night is all that is free between two bookings.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM. Check-in is self-service; you'll receive your access details and directions before arrival.

Can we bring a dog to The Stag?

Yes. Up to 2 pets for a $50 cleaning fee per stay, the same for one pet or two. Declare them at checkout. Service animals are never charged the fee.
