About Kamara

From deployment to the mountains.

Kamara Cabins started with a trip to the mountains.

After coming home from deployment, Morry needed a reset. He booked a cabin in the Shenandoah Valley and something clicked: the quiet, the simplicity, the feeling of being completely surrounded by trees. He wanted a place like that of his own.

Nothing on the market matched what he had in mind, so he bought a few adjacent lots outside Luray and built. The Sparrow came first, an A-frame raised alongside an experienced builder. The Turtle came next, with Morry running every part of the process: land, permits, subcontractors, timelines, finish work. Then he earned his Virginia Class A General Contractor license so his own projects would be held to a professional standard.

The Stag, finished in 2026, stands on the third lot. Three cabins, three lots, one owner who is deeply involved in every decision from floor plan to fixtures, and who answers the emails himself.

The Moroccan-inspired bedroom in The Sparrow

The philosophy

Intentional by design.

Clean Scandinavian lines and the rich textures of West and North African décor. That blend is personal: it's Morry's heritage, in the Moroccan-inspired bedroom of The Sparrow and the warm, design-forward intimacy of The Turtle.

Every cabin is built to a standard, not a budget. This isn't a portfolio of rentals; it's a growing retreat that gets better with each addition, built slowly and built well, for guests who come back year after year.
